Swayd Help Center: The $100,000 Editorial Storyboard & Optical Studio Guide

Welcome to the Swayd Editorial Storyboard & Optical Studio! This guide walks you through reviewing, refining, and optically editing your high-converting social carousels using Swayd's bespoke editorial design platform.

1. Overview: The Editorial Storyboard & Optical Studio Workflow

Swayd transforms raw customer feedback and market signals into publication-ready visual carousels through a two-stage editorial pipeline:

  • Editorial Storyboard Review Desk (`/dashboard/review-desk/[projectId]`):
  • Review, polish, and verify the script, narrative hooks, and spatial balance before generating full-resolution optical slides.

  • Swayd Optical Studio (`/dashboard/studio/[projectId]`):
  • Inspect rendered slides on an interactive canvas, make natural-language surgical edits to specific bounding-box layers, compare versions side-by-side, and export in multi-ratio formats with one click.

    2. Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Step 1: Navigating the Global Editorial Command Shell

  • The navigation rail provides rapid access to your Brand Switcher, Command Center, Review Desk & Slide Archive, Layout Gallery, Publishing Desk, and Commercial API Keys.
  • The top header features the Live Quota Meter, displaying your remaining Generation Credits and Edit Credits with real-time updates.
  • Step 2: Reviewing the Storyboard

  • From the Command Center or Projects archive, open any synthesized carousel in the Review Desk.
  • Storyboard Command Bar: View your carousel title, verified buyer quote citation, chosen layout archetype, and total slide count.
  • Slide Cards: Each slide is organized by its editorial narrative role (e.g., Slide 01 · Hook, Slide 02 · Mechanism, Slide 07 · Call to Action).
  • Live Inline Editing: Click into any headline, body copy, or visual art direction note to tailor the copy in real time.
  • Human-Readable Layer Pills: Inspect the spatial layout elements for each slide (such as Primary Headline, Hero Product Cutout, or Editorial Backdrop).
  • Verified Citations Drawer: Expand the citation drawer to verify original source quotes and buyer sentiments.
  • Click "Approve Storyboard & Render Slides ->" to initiate high-resolution slide generation.
  • Step 3: Surgical Refinement in the Optical Studio

  • Once rendering completes, the project transitions to the Swayd Optical Studio.
  • Left Rail (Slide Filmstrip): Click through rendered slides (Slide 01 through Slide N) to switch between pages.
  • Center Stage (Interactive Canvas):
  • Click directly on any element's bounding box on the slide canvas, or click a layer chip in the right inspector panel.
  • Active selections highlight in Burnt Terracotta with spatial coordinates.
  • Right Rail (Surgical Refinement Inspector):
  • Enter natural-language editing instructions in the prompt bar (e.g., "Change headline background color to deep navy" or "Emphasize the metallic gold texture on the product packaging").
  • Click "Apply Surgical Edit (1 Edit Credit)" to dispatch precision pixel-restoration.
  • Before / After Comparison Slider:
  • Toggle into Before / After Compare mode to scrub between the original slide and your revised edit.
  • Click version history pills (v1, v2, etc.) to instantly rollback or inspect changes.
  • Step 4: 1-Click Multi-Ratio Export

From the Optical Studio, download publication-ready assets tailored for every social destination:

  • Instagram Carousel (4:5 Ratio) — Optimized for feed engagement.
  • TikTok & Reels (9:16 Ratio) — Framed for mobile full-screen viewing.
  • LinkedIn Document (PDF Format) — Multi-page swipeable presentation carousel.
  • Pinterest Pin (2:3 Ratio) — High-resolution editorial pin.

  • 3. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1: What is the difference between Generation Credits and Edit Credits?

Generation Credits are consumed when synthesizing new carousels, mining buyer signals, and rendering complete multi-slide sets. Edit Credits are specifically reserved for surgical bounding-box adjustments and element refinements in the Swayd Optical Studio.

Q2: Can I edit both text and visual elements on a slide?

Yes. During the Review Desk stage, you can directly edit text headlines, body copy, and narrative direction. In the Optical Studio, you can surgically modify both graphical cutouts and typographic layers using natural-language instructions.

Q3: What happens if I want to revert an edit made in the Studio?

You can revert any surgical edit for $0 (zero additional credits consumed). Simply use the version history pills (v0 Original, v1, v2) or the Revert button in the Before/After comparison view to instantly restore a previous iteration.

Q4: How does the Swayd Editorial Director select layout archetypes?

When generating carousels with "Let Director Decide" mode enabled, Swayd automatically analyzes the verified buyer friction quote and mined facts, matching the narrative flow to the optimal spatial layout archetype (Educational, Myth vs. Fact, Case Study, Comparison, or Listicle).

Q5: Can I export carousels in multiple aspect ratios simultaneously?

Yes. Swayd pre-formats your approved carousel into all supported ratios (4:5, 9:16, 2:3, and LinkedIn PDF) so you can download or publish to all major platforms with a single click.
