Swayd Help Center: Obsidian Canvas Studio, Bounding-Box Editing & Version Rollback

Welcome to the Swayd Obsidian Studio (`/dashboard/studio/[projectId]`)! This guide walks you through editing individual slide elements with surgical precision using our interactive 0–1000 bounding-box engine, Swayd Optical Studio pixel-restoration edits, and instant $0 version rollback.

1. Overview of Obsidian Canvas Studio

When your carousel slides are rendered by Swayd Optical Studio, you can refine each slide without regenerating the entire carousel from scratch.

Unlike conventional image generators that re-roll the entire canvas (destroying your typography, lighting, and composition), Swayd's Obsidian Studio operates on an interactive 0–1000 spatial coordinate grid:

  • Move / Resize: Reposition headers, illustrations, or product cutouts across the canvas.
  • Fix Text / Typo: Correct copy, fix typos, or rephrase headlines in a single click.
  • Recolor: Shift color palettes and accents while maintaining harmonious lighting.
  • Remove Element: Erase unwanted visual artifacts or clutter while seamlessly blending the background.
  • Before / After Comparison: Inspect edits side-by-side using the interactive split slider.
  • $0 Free Version Rollback: Instantly restore any previous version or baseline state at zero credit cost.

  • 2. Step-by-Step Walkthrough

Step 1: Open the Slide in Obsidian Studio

Navigate to your project from the Projects dashboard or click "Open Slide Studio" from the Review Desk. You will be greeted by the carbon-black Obsidian Studio interface.

Step 2: Select or Draw an Interactive Layer Box

  • In the Canvas Editor, click on any existing layer (such as <headline_1>, <product_1>, or <bg_left>). The selected box will highlight with a gold border and 8 resize handles.
  • To move the box, click and drag inside the gold boundary.
  • To resize, drag any corner or edge handle. The live [Y1, X1, Y2, X2] coordinates update dynamically in real time.
  • To target an unlisted area, click "+ Draw Box" in the top toolbar, then click and drag on the slide canvas to create a custom box.
  • Step 3: Choose an Action & Enter Your Instruction

  • Click an action chip on the floating bottom bar:
  • Fix Text / Typo: Inserts a targeted text update prompt for the selected box.
  • Recolor: Inserts a color adjustment command.
  • Move / Resize: Sets repositioning instructions.
  • Remove Element: Marks the layer to be removed and cleanly inpainted.
  • Type your natural-language edit instruction (e.g., Replace headline with "Linear Enterprise: Speed at Global Scale" in gold typography).
  • Step 4: Apply Optical Studio Edit (1 Credit)

Click "Apply Optical Studio Edit (1 Credit)".

  • The atomic credit gatekeeper verifies your quota and deducts 1 edit credit.
  • Swayd locks all unedited boxes as anchors referencing the current slide.
  • The modified elements are rendered via Swayd Optical Studio in seconds.
  • The new slide (v2, v3, etc.) is uploaded permanently to Swayd CDN and updates your studio canvas automatically.
  • Step 5: Compare & Rollback in Before / After Split View

  • Toggle the top bar mode to "Before / After".
  • Drag the gold slider handle back and forth to inspect pixel differences between the pre-edit baseline and your new edit.
  • Click any iteration pill in the Version History Timeline to view that specific edit's prompt and timestamp.
  • Need to revert? Click "Revert to This Version ($0)". Your slide instantly rolls back to that image with zero credits deducted.

  • 3. Top 5 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1: Does editing a single bounding box change the rest of my slide?

No. Swayd uses advanced spatial attention anchoring. All unedited elements are automatically locked to preserve your fonts, textures, layout polarity, and brand cutouts with microscopic consistency.

Q2: How much do bounding-box edits cost?

Every bounding-box edit consumes 1 Edit Credit from your monthly workspace balance. Paid plans include edit credits; the exact allowance is shown on the pricing page and in the top quota meter.

Q3: Does reverting to a previous version consume an edit credit?

No. Version rollback is 100% free ($0). All previous versions are stored permanently on Swayd CDN and indexed in your slide_edit_history table. You can revert to v1 Baseline or jump between iterations as many times as you like without consuming credits.

Q4: Can I add new elements that weren't originally in the template?

Yes. Click "+ Draw Box" in the top toolbar and draw a box anywhere on the canvas. Describe what you'd like to appear in that box (e.g., "Add a minimalist gold arrow icon pointing right"), and Swayd Optical Studio will synthesize it directly into those exact pixel coordinates.

Q5: What formats can I export my edited carousel in?

Once satisfied with your edits, click "Export Multi-Ratio" in the top header. Swayd will instantly export 2x Retina assets for:

  • Instagram & LinkedIn 4:5 (1080x1350)
  • TikTok & Stories 9:16 (1080x1920)
  • Pinterest 2:3 (1000x1500)
  • LinkedIn Multi-Page PDF (ready to post)
